CIRT (Construction Industry Round Table) 2016 Pedestrian Bridge Project
I worked on this project alongside 3 peers and a few professional architects and contractors for a nationwide competition. We were given a site, on the Seattle Waterfront, and then we set out to design a bridge that would fit in. We started by analyzing different bridge options, designed ours, did structural analysis on it, and then created a construction plan.
I created these icons to demonstrate the analysis we conducted of some different bridges we were interested in. This analysis helped us to design our bridge.
The Diagram on the right shows the structural forces on the bridge.
The rendering on the left shows our design superimposed onto the site.
These are our final boards that we submitted to the national jury. While we didn’t get selected as a finalist for the competition, we were awarded the honor of “Best Presentation Boards.”
